As the Village of Slinger observed its 150th year celebration, the Slinger High School students also celebrated with them. This happened during the annual homecoming parade that the highschool puts on for the community. The parade was joined by local organizations such as the Cub Scouts and Wolf and Sons, including some of the younger aged organizations from cheerleading to football. After the parade was the showcase battle between the Slinger Owls and the Grafton Black Hawks. The game was chalked up to be an exciting game considering the skill and high level players on the Black Hawks such as Joey Giorgi, a 6’7” running back already committed to the Wisconsin badgers and ranked the #1 rusher in state. Unfazed, the Slinger Owls came into the game and crushed all the opposition resulting in a 28-14 win over the Grafton Black Hawks. The win can be contributed to the outstanding performance of the defense in stopping a very strong offensive rushing team. The offense also did an outstanding job in scoring two rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns. Logan Homberg scored the two rushing touchdowns while he was at the position of quarterback. Logan also threw one touchdown to Travis Dufour and another to Connor Goodwin. The win over the Grafton Black Hawks was very gratifying, and the whole team celebrated at the Footloose themed homecoming dance the following day, lead by the Homecoming King, Cole Bock.
