On December 7th through the 11th, DECA has a week long celebration of Christmas called DECA the Halls. The theme this year is based on the movie Elf. Elf was chosen to be the theme simply because it’s a very popular Christmas movie and DECA could come up with so many ideas on how to decorate the business hall that the opportunity just couldn’t be passed up. The idea for decorating the business hall is a walk through the movie Elf. First is the North Pole, then the Candy Cane and Gum Drop forest, next the Lincoln Tunnel and finally New York City! There will as be a LIFE SIZE Buddy the elf with the face cut out for Pictures! During DECA the Halls, to get students into the spirit of Christmas, there are dress up days all week long. Monday is holiday pajama day, Tuesday is spread Christmas cheer day, Wednesday is Club Day, Thursday is college gear day, and Friday is ugly sweater day. The goal of DECA the Halls is to get people talking about DECA and hopefully encourage them to join the club, and take the related classes. DECA, as well as their classes, are designed to get students career and college ready. So have yourself a merry little DECA the Halls and a happy New Years.
