This year is my junior year. I had mixed feelings coming into this school year; honestly, I didn’t really think about it, because I don’t like to think about school.

But when I did think about this school year, I thought about two things. One of the things I thought about was the renovations. I didn’t know if the renovations would change the layout of the school or just be little modern updates. The other thing I was thinking about was college. I’ve been looking forward to going to college for a while now, ever since I started going on college tours with my sister when she was looking. Junior year is known for being the year you have to start looking at colleges.

I had a few ways I prepared for this school year. I got extras of notebooks and folders, because they were cheap when we bought then and I knew by the time my notebooks got filled and folders ripped, the prices would probably be doubled. I also came in for freshman orientation to put my stuff in my locker. While I was there, I saw where a classroom was if I didn’t know before.

My first day was decent. It went pretty smooth, but I was surprised to find how many of my classes were mixed with seniors. I had at least three classes that had seniors in them. In the past years, the only times I’ve had classes with kids in other grades was in math class, but now that I’m taking AP classes, seniors are either the majority or half of the class.

However, at one point I got overwhelmed with one of my classes and I decided to switch my schedule. It was incredibly easy to switch my schedule- I just went into the guidance office after school and Mrs. Gehring switched a few of my classes for me. I dropped this one class that wasn’t the best fit for me.

Now, I’m enjoying all of my classes as best as I can. I’m grateful that I was given the chance to change my schedule. I’m excited for the rest of the school year and what will follow after!
