The Nite Crier sent out a survey asking if anybody had any interesting jobs. We got quite a few responses and one of those was from Jane Schaub who is a junior and also on Student Council.
Define your job.
I work at Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness Club. For my job I am basically a receptionist, I answer the phones, take care of payments, schedule court time, clean, and do laundry.
How did you learn about your job?
I have gone to the tennis club for many years to play tennis and work out so I found out about the job through that.
Does this job have anything to do with what you want to do after high school?
This job does not have anything to do with what I want to do after high school but it is very nice to work here because I can just go hit, practice or work out right before or after I work.
Describe a typical day at your job.
On a typical day I come in, sign in, look over the "chores" (things like vacuum, restock snacks, get garbage, etc.) go around and check the locker rooms and fitness area for dirty towels, answer phones, sometimes make a smoothie for someone.
What is the best part about your job?
I think the best part of my job is the convenience, I am able to work right where I work out and practice tennis, and I also get a free membership working here which is extremely nice!
