The first game, freshman vs sophomores, started at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, October 5. The sophomores started off strong in the first quarter, scoring 6 points and leaving the freshman scoreless. After halftime, however, the freshman were quick to score two touchdowns, plus a two point conversion. The game ended with the sophomores pushing the ball towards their goal. They were unable to score, leaving the freshman with 16 points, and the sophomores with 6. The second game, juniors vs seniors, started at 7:30. The game was at a stand still for most of the first half until the seniors scored a touchdown in the last remaining minutes. In the second half, the Juniors busted loose with a QB sneak on both the touchdown and the 2-point conversion the change the score 8 to 6. After that, the game was fairly equal play when at the final three minutes, the junior defense intercepted a pass which lead to a running touchdown to end the game 14-6, with the juniors on top. The main event was the staff vs seniors game at 8:30. The staff started first and were stopped quickly by the senior defense. The seniors then struck first with a nice touchdown pass and a good 2-point conversion to lead the game 8 to 0. The teachers came back with a nice touchdown pass, but no 2-point conversion, leaving the score 8-6. It then became a race against time, and the seniors were deteriorating, starting with a 5 yard penalty for too many players on the field. They tried to score but just couldn't pull it off. All teams played hard and seem to be having fun doing it. It is one of the big events of Slinger’s Homecoming Week, and it definitely didn't disappoint.
