This Saturday, Slinger BotsIQ travelled to Moraine Park Technical College to compete in this year's first competition. Centroid was Slinger's only bot this time around, and it performed as admirably as last year. Unfortunately, this year, West Bend's weaponized bar bot "Roulette" was fully functional, taking the championship and more or less destroying Centroid. With Centroid in less than perfect condition, West Bend's bots managed to take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. This pitted Roulette against Brick, the electromagnet bot which Centroid beat in the championship round last year. The match made for an exciting ending to the competition, but the Brick team is going to have some work ahead of them. Although Centroid took 4th, it was a fun day for those who came out to watch. The next competition occurs in last April, for which Slinger is hoping to have 3 or 4 bots in working order, including Centroid and Neon Annihilation (both of which have won 1st in competitions before).
