The forensics team had a very busy Saturday this past weekend. All the students and coaches had set up Friday after school. Then the following morning, the students rolled out of bed before the sun came up, and arrived at school at 7 am. They had a very successful meet taking 4th out of big schools. Many schools participated including both West Bends, James Madison Memorial, and Milwaukee School of the Arts. Many students managed to take home a trophy. Katie Jaques, senior, took 4th in her Demonstration speaking of painting with pastels. Autumn Morrow, senior, took 4th in Extemporaneous Speaking. In OIL speaking (poetry and prose), Hannah Ritger, senior, took 3rd and Phillip Steenbakers took 1st place with an almost perfect score of 1 2 1 (1 being the highest ranking, evaluated by 3 judges). John Loff, sophomore, took 6th in Oratorical Declamation. In Play Acting, Jordan Lee and Jenna Fredericks, both freshmen, took 2nd overall. There was a powerhouse in Radio speaking, with Vincent Damato, junior, taking 6th, Joey Neumann, senior, taking 4th, and last year's state winner, Joe Skubal, taking 2nd. Finally, in Storytelling, Izzy Draxler, freshman, took 6th and Abby Kalina, sophomore, took 5th. Various students were points away from powering. So in this Saturday’s meet at West Bend West, hopefully more people will take home a trophy.
