Hey, the Nite Crier is going around asking seniors what they are going to do after high school.

Here are a few questions, answered by Rebekah Seidel.

Why the Marines?

I chose the United States Marine Corps because I wanted to feel the pride of belonging and contributing to something bigger and better than myself.

What do you do in the Marines?

That isn’t a question I can answer, as I have yet to experience the life of a Marine. I am currently in the process of looking over the 350+ jobs that the Marine Corps has to offer, determining which one will be best for me. But if anyone reading this is interested in speaking with a Marine first hand I will be happy to put you in contact with my recruiter.

What was the influence behind your choice?

I’ve always wanted to travel the world, meet new people, and see new and amazing things. The Marine Corps will allow me to do all of that. I know a lot of people say that after high school you are supposed to go to college so you can succeed in life but, if I can be honest, I fail to see the logic in that. I feel like I would be able to use the Marines as a solid foundation to mold myself to what I want. In the Marines, I will be able to get experience in the field I want to work in, be able to take college classes for free at my own pace, travel the country and world, and get a steady paycheck at the same time.
