Sign Club is new this year to Slinger High School. Sign Club is a club where students learn sign language. Mrs. Weisman, an aid who learned sign language to help a student that was deaf, runs the club. Mrs. Weisman teaches that sign language is a combination of both hands and facial expressions. The first signs that a student taught is the alphabet, followed by signs and facial expressions to get a story or sentence across. Facial expressions are important in sign language because then the person you're signing can understand what the signer is feeling about the story or sentence. The club meets every Tuesday after school from 2:35 to 3:30 in room 219. Join and learn the language of silence!
