This past Thursday, SkillsUSA members were prepared to head to UW Stout for the regional competition. However, due to weather concerns, the event was cancelled. The event is not being rescheduled, which means that all SkillsUSA members who meet the minimum point requirement for participation/service projects, as well as grade and conduct standards are eligible for the state competition.
Regionals being cancelled was a huge disappointment to all members of SkillsUSA. All members put in many hours of hard work preparing for the competition, and cannot “practice” for state at regionals. However, SkillsUSA advisor Duane Apel is confident, stating, “I have no doubts that this year’s group of outstanding SkillsUSA members will respond in a positive manner”.
