I’ve been interested in the paranormal ever since I was little. In fact, it’s always been a dream of mine to visit a haunted Civil War battle ground because I think it’d be such an interesting experience.

Last year my interest heightened when I visited a psychic. One thing I was incredibly interested in was my past lives. This is because I’ve always had a fear of somebody breaking into my house. I’ve never known why, but it’s been that way since I was little. Ironically, she told me that I died in that way during the viking ages. She informed me that in my last life I died by being strangled to death and that’s why guardian angels protect me heavily now.

That knowledge pushed my interest even more. I was going through a really rough time, and so, as nerdy as it sounds, I started to look up videos on how to contact my guardian angel. Picture me, sitting on my bed, asking questions to a completely empty room. I felt awkward and embarrassed doing it, but my curiosity mattered more to me in that moment. I stared at my curtain, focusing on that only. I asked if my guardian angel was a girl. Nothing happened. I asked if my guardian angel was a boy. My curtain began to flap.

If you need to know one thing about me, it’s that 9:11 is my time. Whenever I look at the clock it’s 9:11. I could be going to bed, it’d be 9:11. I could be waking up, it’d be 9:11. I could be just glancing at the clock in class and it’d be 9:11. It got to the point that I had to Google it and it said that if you see a certain time every time you look at the clock it means that your guardian angels are trying to get a message to you.

And if that’s not creepy enough, I’ll recount the experience I had the other night. I was finishing up on my computer on the other side of the room from my bed. Randomly, my Christmas lights hanging above my bed started flickering. I thought it was odd but didn’t think much of it. When the lights went completely out and I looked at the clock I felt discomfort. It was 9:11.

Adding onto the 9:11 and guardian angel theme, I was sleeping the other day and what I distinctly remember before waking up is the name Jasper repeating in my head. When I woke up, it was 9:11. So I assumed my ghost’s name is Jasper.

Even though people laugh at me, I still look forward to the times Jasper communicates with me. If you have a ghost story you'd like featured on the Nite Crier, email me at 19chlschmidt@slingerschools.org!
