Considered by many to be the worst X-Men movie of all time, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the origins of Logan aka Wolverine before he became a part of the X-Men. The films starts with a montage of 2 mutant brothers. Logan (played by Hugh Jackman) who has long claws that can go in and out of his knuckles and his brother Victor (played by Liev Schreiber) who can grow long sharp fingernails fighting through all the great wars (Civil, World War I and II, and Vietnam). That’s when Victor and Logan are approached by Colonel Stryker (played by Danny Huston) who is forming a team of mutants that do military Ops that no other soldiers could do. Over time, Logan doesn’t feel right with killing people anymore and leaves the team. Six years later, Logan begins a relationship with a girlfriend name Kayla Silverfox (played by Lynn Collins) and has a good job working in a lumber yard. Suddenly one day Stryker tells Logan that someone is hunting down his former team mates. The next day Logan senses that Kayla is in trouble and finds her dead with claw marks in her truck. This leads Logan on a one man vendetta against Victor. With Stryker’s helps, Logan acquires the infamous adamantium (indestructible metal) skeleton, so that Stryker could use him for his special mutant experiments, but Logan escapes. Logan learns about the experiments and goes to Stryker’s lab to rescue the mutants and gain his revenge against Stryker and Victor.
X-Men Origins:Wolverine is the worst X-Men movie, but not a bad movie in general. Truly, the movie is mostly dumb and doesn’t give what true X-Men fans are looking for, but there is some entertaining stuff in it. The film does suffers from having one dimensional side characters or no character at all. Also, the film gives fan favorite X-Men like Deadpool, Gambit, and Emma Frost barely any screen time or character development they truly deserve. Most of the CGI effects are terrible and look very fake. The only thing about this film that’s good is Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and some of the action scenes that are entertaining to watch. It’s a dumb action film that I would put next to something like Dark Knight rises or Man of Steel. X-Men Origins:Wolverine gets 4/10.
