Moana is the story of Moana, (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho) daughter to the chief of her village, who is called upon by the ocean to seek the Demigod Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) who has stolen an ancient artifact that puts a curse over all the Hawaiian islands. Moana has to get Maui to return the artifact to its rightful place and save the islands.

Moana is a beautiful movie with good voice acting, animation, and comedy. Moana introduces and stars Auli’i Cravalho, who does a good job as a newcomer working off of Dwayne Johnson’s character, while also successfully showing Moana’s different layers and the struggles she goes through. The animation in Moana is beautiful, showing off the wonderful Hawaiian Islands and their culture. The only thing that is unlikable about Moana is that the musical numbers are not that catchy in comparison to other Disney films and there are moments where the film seems to drag a little a bit. Moana gets a 4 out of 5 stars.
