Escape to the Oasis in Ready Player One

Ready Player One is the film adaptation of a book of the same name. The story is about Wade aka Parzival (played by Tye Sheridan) who lives in the slums of Ohio and loves going into the virtual world of the Oasis. The Oasis was created by Halliday (played by Mark Rylance) and his friend Ogden Morrow (played by Simon Pegg) who wanted to make a world that people could escape into and be whoever they wanted to be. When Halliday died, he left a challenge for people to solve where a person has to get three keys and then that person will own the Oasis. Wade has friends in the Oasis like Aech (played by Lena Waithe), Sho (played by Philip Zhao), and Daito (played by Win Morisaki). One day in the Oasis, Wade meets Artemis (played by Olivia Cooke) the leader of an underground resistance against Sorrento (played by Ben Mendelsohn) the owner of the IOI who wants to own the Oasis for the profit of it. So Wade decides to team up with Artemis, alone with everyone else in the Oasis to stop Sorrento and save the Oasis.

Ready Player One is a visually stunning pop culture masterpiece. The characters are relatable and have unique personalities. The Oasis is amazing and feels like a place that you would want to stay in forever. The action is entertaining and shows off the spectacular abilities the different players have in the Oasis. The film is also full of references to movies and video games that are cool to see. The CGI (Computer Generated Images) in the film is impressive and helps shape the world of the Oasis and the different avatars in the game. The weakness of the film is that the story has been seen in tons of other movies. Ready Player One gets 9.5/10 stars.
