Fall in the Mountains
The water rushes across the freshly fallen leaves,
Over the rocks that stick out of the ground.
The stream runs between the array of colors on the mountainside,
Reflecting brilliant oranges, deep reds and bright greens.
The water surges past a deer,
Who stopped to drink in the colorful water.
The water comes upon an edge,
Plunging over the edge of the mountain, never stopping to think.
The trees below are littered with color,
The water jumps, spraying the branches with a mist.
The drops of water catch the fleeting rays of the sun,
Reflecting the light onto the trees.
Setting the forest ablaze,
A fire with no ability to be defeated.
Only to burn in the mountains in the Fall.
