Dracula (1931) is the story of Dracula (played by Bela Lugosi) a vampire from Transylvania, who ventures to England to prey on the innocent, but is attracted by Mina (played by Helen Chandler). When the dead start showing up bloodless, Doctor Van Helsing (played by Edward Van Sloan) sees that they are dealing with vampires and vows to kill the vampires before anyone else dies.
Dracula (1931) is haunting and bone chilling. The acting is excellent. Bela Lugosi is a great Dracula, who has an intense stare and a charming personality. The back and forth between Dracula and Van Helsing is intense and the transformation of Mina into a vampire is sadden with how she has to divorce her husband. The weakness of the film is that the editing is weird with cutting to random shots and no transitions. On a side note, Dracula (1992) is a decent remake of the film with a great cast and a style that makes it different from any other Dracula film, but it does have a few flaws too. Dracula (1931) gets 8.5/10 stars.
