All students learn many things over the course of the year, regardless of the classes taken. Choir is no different. Over the course of the school year, Slinger’s five choirs have learned and grown tremendously and are showing it all off in the spring concert on Monday, May 16th at 7:30.

Popular movies such as “Pitch Perfect 1/2” have created a growing interest in a capella music, thus inspiring Slinger’s choir director, Mrs. Peters, to program a concert comprised almost entirely of a capella music. Treble Choir will be performing popular hits such as “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Best Day of My Life”, and Concert Chorale will be performing other popular hits such as “And So It Goes” and “Viva La Vida”. SMAC (Slinger Men’s A Capella) will be performing “In the Good Old Summertime”, and their female counterpart, Vocal Jazz, will be performing a total of four songs, including “The Rose” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”. Chamber Singers will sing “Misty”, and a beautiful, accompanied “She Walks In Beauty Like the Night”.

The concert will ultimately conclude with a double choir, accompanied song called “What a Wonderful World/I Love You”. The song showcases the large choral sound that all the choirs have developed throughout the course of the year, and is the best song to conclude the last official choir concert of the year.
