Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is the sequel to the Robin Williams 1995 film Jumanji. In this story, the board game Jumanji resurfaces, but is put on the shelf by Alex (played by Nick Jonas) who isn’t interested in playing a board game. This leads to the game changing into a video game and Alex puting the game in his machine, which leads Alex to be sucked into the video game Jumanji. 20 years later, high school: Spencer (played by Alex Wolff) a nerd, Fridge (played by Ser'Darius Blain) a jock, Bethany (played by Madison Iseman) the pretty girl, and Martha (played by Morgan Turner) the awkward girl. These four all get detention and are stuck cleaning the basement, when they run across the video game Jumanji and the gaming system that comes with it. From there, the students get sucked into the game and become the characters they chose. Spencer becomes Dr. Smolder Bravestone (played by Dwayne Johnson), Fridge becomes Moose Finbar (played by Kevin Hart), Bethany becomes Professor Shelly Oberon (played by Jack Black), and Marha becomes Rudy Roundhouse (played by Karen Gillan). As they go through Jumanji, the gang is given a mission to find a stolen diamond and put it back where it belongs. This will bring the gang back home and out of Jumanji, so the gang go through Jumanji fighting off enemies to find the diamond and beat the game.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a great comedy that is different from the original. The cast work well together and have great comic timing. The acting is terrific in the video game characters being able to embody their teenage counterpart and have the same movements and characteristics of the characters their playing. The comedy is funny especially Jack Black acting like a pretty girl and the movements and the way he says things is extremely funny. The action is cool to watch and the way that characters have different abilities is interesting to watch. The weakness of the film is that the villain is weak and very bland. Jumanji:Welcome to the Jungle gets 9/10 stars.
