Daddy’s Home is the new Will Ferrell comedy that looks at the common situation of step parents. Will Ferrell plays a step dad named Brad, who is the father of two kids named Megan and Dylan, and husband to his wife Sara ( played by Linda Cardellini). In the beginning, Brad is not loved by Megan and Dylan, but a few months later the kids come to like Brad. That is when their biological father, Dusty (played by Mark Wahlberg) comes to town. From there it becomes the battle of the fathers to see who’s the best dad of all. Daddy’s Home is a movie that while it has been advertised as a family film, is meant for a more mature audience. The movie has adult jokes and language that gives it a sense of reality in that the characters have conversations that adults would usually have with each other. On the other hand, Daddy’s Home does have somes jokes that are very ridiculous, like in the trailer when Brad tries riding a motorcycle, and he rides it into the house and survives crashing into the wall. Daddy’s Home is a mixed bag of both relatable and cartoonish comedy that could sway people’s opinion of the movie.
