The Slinger boys’ basketball team finished their final season in the Wisconsin Little Ten Conference with an overall record of 8-16. Although they did not post a winning record, the Owls finished the season strong, playing well in their last five games, especially with their victories against West Allis Hale and Wisconsin Lutheran.
“Our seniors Josh Wetherall, Jacob Olson, Thomas Noltner, and Nick Rasimus were great leaders while Derek Sabin, Thomas Noltner, and Tyler Evans had really strong seasons,” comments Head Coach Al Schieve.
Junior Derek Sabin led the team in points scored, followed by Thomas Noltner and junior Tyler Evans. Sabin also led the team in rebounds while Noltner was the team leader in both assists and steals. Noltner broke a Slinger High School record this season for most three-pointers scored in a single game. Derek Sabin received First Team All-Conference honors this season.
Congratulations to the Slinger High School boys’ basketball team on their hard work this season! Next year will bring on new challenges, as Slinger enters the North Shore Conference.
