The girls' varsity basketball team is having a wonderful season, rarely losing any games and posting a 21-3 overall record. The boys' team, however, is facing a rebuild, according to their coach Mr. Grimm. I had the chance to sit down and talk to Mr. Grimm where he told me that the boys learned a lot of lessons this year yet the coaches are still looking for consistency. Mr. Grimm explained to me that Slinger has a young team compared to the other teams they play against, and while other teams have multiple seniors starting the game Slinger has one senior starting.

The boys’ team overall record is 5-17 and their conference record is 3-15. The team won a big victory early on in the season against Whitefish Bay, which was a big highlight to the season. They’ve also had close games against West Bend East, Cedarburg, West Bend West, and Hartford.

This Thursday, February 28th, the Lady Owls face Beaver Dam in playoff competition. Good luck everyone!
